GIVING

American Cancer Society
Each year, Philadelphia University hosts Relay for Life. Relay for Life is a campus wide initiative in which students participate as a group in a night long walk to raise awareness and money for the cure. Our chapter is no stranger to the event, working hard to do our part to raise money.

Alex Lemonade Stand
When Alex, who was diagnosed with childhood cancer just before her first birthday, was four, she told her parents she wanted to set up a front-yard lemonade stand. Her plan: to give the money to doctors to help them find a cure. Since Alex set up her first lemonade stand in 2000—truly exemplifying the saying “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade”—the organization has raised more than $60 million. (Learn more)

Autism Speaks
Last October, DSP Eta-Xi worked to raise money for Autism Speaks whose goal is to change the future for all who struggle with an Autism Spectrum Disorder through global biomedical research.
